Windows Phone 7

So, as I mentioned in an earlier post I quite enjoyed Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5 and am would like to get my hands on a WP7 device sooner than later. I unfortunatly do not know anyone who has one so have never used one and had not gotten one due to it being incomplete. Although now with the NoDo update and Mango (Windows Phone 7.1) which introduces many more features, such as deeper integrated social networking, improved message handling and more common features which I think it should have had from the start, like multitasking.

Also as some of you may know back in February Nokia and Microsoft collaborated which just confirmed the death of Symbian and that Nokia have chosen to goto with Microsoft and not Google. Nokia will be placing Windows Phone on their devices. Microsoft is going to make use of Nokia's OVI maps so we shall have Bing Maps and there are many other benefits for Microsoft.

Also Nokia will be releasing its first set of WP7 devices with Mango on them which is quite nice although IMO expected. Bit stupid to release something older when there is something newer out. Nokia also said they will try release their first set before the end of the year but did not promise to do so.

There has been a Phone 7 HTC device which was leaked and it has 12MP camera. It apparently looks similar to the HTC Trophy. Since I have gotten my N8 I have really been enjoying the camera and taking a lot more pictures than I normally would. So this is good news, especially considering HTC have never really had the most amazing cameras. Lets hope this 12MP camera is really good quality to and the images do not show too washed out like other pictures taken with HTC devices do at times.

So yes. My next phone will possibly be the HTC Sensation although I doubt I would hesitate to get a WP7 phone in a few months times after having the HTC Sensation. I think Windows Phone could become a very nice competitor for Android, we do kind of need it as there isn't really anything else to challenge Android.

Cheers,

Psy

  1. Would love to hear more on Android phones as well, and maybe a comparison between the two?

  2. Hmm, I shall consider that although have not had either type of devies so would be tricky and perhaps a bit biased to do a comparison at the moment.
