HTC Sensation's "death grip"

So the HTC Sensation has a death grip too. Seriously, HTC, what were you guys thinking when you designed this phone? Very attractive looking phone, although the specs are not the best (compared to the Samsung i9100 Galaxy S II) and now it has a death grip too?

Well back on track. What is a death grip? Well, a death grip is when
you hold the phone and it blocks the antenna which reduces signal, or in the case of the HTC it affects the bluetooth and WiFi. As you can see in the picture above, thanks to gsmarena, it is the top and bottom of the phone. So if the phone were to be held in the normal portrait mode it would not be too bad. Although as soon as you change it to landscape and place your hands on either side you will most likely end up with reduced bluetooth and WiFi signal as well as a bit of radio signal too.

The iPhone 4 also suffered from this, although that was due to people bridging the gap between the antennas on the side - so putting a cover on the phone would sort it out. With the HTC a cover may make it worse as nothing it being shorted and a cover would be something extra the signal needs to penetrate through.

I really hope HTC wake up and the next high-end phone they produce is thought through thoroughly!

Although with the Sensation they have failed in my opinion. Hope they do better next time. I am sure they will.

  9. And this is why cell phones originally had antennas sticking out of them. Because they aren't blocked by random things like HANDS. Geez.
